Announcing: dance Caller, 2014 // Shiloh Crook

Ladies and gentleman--I am very, very excited to announce the caller for OSR's 2014 English/Scottish Country Dance Ball! Shiloh Crook is an inspirational, bubbly, fun, highly talented young lady. Along with crazy seamstress skills, Shiloh calls and teaches a dance group in New York. Her calling style is highlighted by patience, precision, and attention to detail.

I am thrilled and honored to put you in her very capable hands!

Anyone who's attended the OSR says it's changed their life, brought many new and long lasting friendships, is hosted and catered in a clean, family-friendly environment, and most importantly, is an event that inspires them in their faith.

Guidelines for Ball apparel

Like I have mentioned a few times, there is no costume theme for this year's OSR English/Scottish Country Dance Ball. Semi-formal to formal wear is acceptable.

Guys: Self explanatory. Not quite a black tie event, but jeans aren't a great choice either. ;)

Girls: Pretty easy to figure out, right? Anything from long sweeping skirts, fancy costumes, or cute party dresses work. You don't HAVE to look like a diva, but why not? :) As long as your outfit fits within these specifications, you are good to go:

+ No dresses above the knee
+ No cleavage
+ Dresses MUST have straps
+ No open backs

Note that if you do not wish to dance, you don't have to! We recommend it, as English/Scottish Country dancing is very "hands off," fun, and family friendly. Don't be shy! HOWEVER, we understand convictions or personal preferences. There are plenty of snacks and games available for nonparticipants.

--there will be a group picture taken prior to the Ball
