Ok, ppls. There in fact IS a prep dance prepared at 7:15 Saturday night. The actual Ball will be at 7:30 or 8:00. As many as are able should be back down at the lodge around this time IN costume. If your still getting ready and are unable to attend, that's fine...but you'll miss prep. ;) I'm not sure what Don (the caller) has in mind for the intro-class, BUT he told me he now has his list of "fun dances" down to 57 (for the Ball). :P hehe Yes, yes, he's cutting it down. ;)
- We are going to have a BLAST.

Saturday *Sports*
I was just perusing the schedule, and noticed that organized (or disorganized, whichever, ;)) sports, (namely, Volleyball and Ultimate) are not on it.
According to the schedule, we've got 'Free for all games' from 1 to 2, (for those not in the talent show, as that is talent show prep time,) and then organized games from 3-5:30.
So, just a note from a concerned OSR'er, wondering if there will indeed be time for the aforementioned games, which were pretty well attended last time. Of course it will depend on number of folks interested, but I was just wondering...
I'm excited! See you all soon!

We have an awesome group this year! Final statistics are:
38 ppls all together staying at the camp...45 people in all (some - my family and a few parents only paying for meals.)
16 guys
17 gals
{not including parents and my younger siblings}
Not bad, eh? o.O

Scavenger Hunt Update!
Ok folks, just in case you've forgotten, I figured I'd mention again about the AWESOME, AMAZING Photo Scavenger Hunt we're going to have this year! (at least, that's what I'm hoping it'll be ;) )
As I previously mentioned, it'll be a camping theme. You'll have a certain amount of time to take pictures completing all the objectives on the list we'll give you, and the person with the most things done wins! Sample objectives may include photographing your entire team doing some various activities such as: relaxing around a campfire; making a s'more (sans marshmallow); and the perpetual favorite, a team pyramid! (With a fun twist!)
So, as was previously stated, bring your cameras and bring your sense of adventure, cause this will be a fun time for all involved!

Our caller is hired!
I am EXTREMELY excited and pleased to announce that our ENGLISH COUNTRY DANCE caller/s are officially hired! Mr. Don Corson and his wife Kathy are coming allll the way from KY, and not only have been very gracious, but Don is one of the best callers I've ever heard! - of all the callers I interviewed, he was my first choice...very, very pleased with his work. Look out OSR Ball - this is going to be amazing!

Etiquette*~
'Once Upon a Dream' English Country Dance Ball Etiquette
(page copied from a friend)
+ Gentlemen will be expected to ask the ladies to dance. Ladies will NOT ask the gentleman. Gentlemen, please escort your ladies on, and off of the dance floor leading them back to where you found them (offering your arm.)
+ Ladies-if you do not wish to dance the following dance, simply sit down to save the guys the trouble of asking. If the gentleman thanks you for the dance, after it is over, do not say, “You’re welcome” (unless you wish to sound snobbish). Instead, you should thank him also. If you do refuse a gentleman a dance, and give a reason such as, “No, thank you, I am tired” then you will be expected to sit out that dance no matter who asks you. However, you may refuse one gentleman and accept another if you do not give a reason.
+ Gentlemen- if the lady does refuse your proposal to dance do not take it personally.
+ It is only polite etiquette to dance up to two dances with the same partner unless, of course, you are married or otherwise engaged.
+ Ladies may dance with other ladies, but ONLY after all the gentlemen have chosen their partners for the said dance.
+ All dances will begin and end with a bow or curtsy to partners and opposites (when appropriate). Between dances, when the center of the room is cleared, one should refrain from walking across the dance floor if at all possible. This eliminates the false idea of a dance about to begin.
+ Dance cards will be available if the lady so chooses to have one.
+ Last but not least, have fun and enjoy yourself. :)
**Note to Dancers** Always be aware of where you step and try not to step on the ladies’ skirts or the gentlemen’s heals.

Calling All Musically-Inclined Volunteers!
Hey everyone!
I hope everyone is as excited about another OSR as I am! I enjoyed many aspects about last year's get together, but one big highlight for me was the Friday Night Jam Session. For those of you who did not attend last year, we basically got around the campfire and sang until...well...we could sing no more! I have to say it has always been one of the most memorable worship experiences I can remember. You could really feel God there with us, even though it was dark, and we were all cold singing outside by campfire, the warmth of the Holy Spirit clearly filled our camp. Thanks be to God, for His indescribable gifts, and blessings!
There were some suggestions last year that we should try some four-part acapella singing. I don't know about you, but this is something I would really love to try this year during the Jam Session. So, if any of you have identical hymnals or songsheets that you would be willing to share, please let me know. Of course, if you would rather bring an instrument (guitars, violin, bagpipes etc.) please bring them too! I will once again be bringing my 61-note Midi Keyboard along for whoever would like to use it during the get together.
Lastly, I am looking for some volunteers who would like to help during the morning devotions Saturday and Sunday morning. To recap, I am looking for:

- A volunteer to run PowerPoint on Saturday and/or Sunday (I will provide the computer)
- Suggestions for songs to sing during these times (i.e. hymns, gospel songs, praise and worship)
- Any other music-related ideas or suggestions you might have
