Etiquette*~
'Once Upon a Dream' English Country Dance Ball Etiquette
(page copied from a friend)
+ Gentlemen will be expected to ask the ladies to dance. Ladies will NOT ask the gentleman. Gentlemen, please escort your ladies on, and off of the dance floor leading them back to where you found them (offering your arm.)
+ Ladies-if you do not wish to dance the following dance, simply sit down to save the guys the trouble of asking. If the gentleman thanks you for the dance, after it is over, do not say, “You’re welcome” (unless you wish to sound snobbish). Instead, you should thank him also. If you do refuse a gentleman a dance, and give a reason such as, “No, thank you, I am tired” then you will be expected to sit out that dance no matter who asks you. However, you may refuse one gentleman and accept another if you do not give a reason.
+ Gentlemen- if the lady does refuse your proposal to dance do not take it personally.
+ It is only polite etiquette to dance up to two dances with the same partner unless, of course, you are married or otherwise engaged.
+ Ladies may dance with other ladies, but ONLY after all the gentlemen have chosen their partners for the said dance.
+ All dances will begin and end with a bow or curtsy to partners and opposites (when appropriate). Between dances, when the center of the room is cleared, one should refrain from walking across the dance floor if at all possible. This eliminates the false idea of a dance about to begin.
+ Dance cards will be available if the lady so chooses to have one.
+ Last but not least, have fun and enjoy yourself. :)
**Note to Dancers** Always be aware of where you step and try not to step on the ladies’ skirts or the gentlemen’s heals.

Calling All Musically-Inclined Volunteers!
Hey everyone!
I hope everyone is as excited about another OSR as I am! I enjoyed many aspects about last year's get together, but one big highlight for me was the Friday Night Jam Session. For those of you who did not attend last year, we basically got around the campfire and sang until...well...we could sing no more! I have to say it has always been one of the most memorable worship experiences I can remember. You could really feel God there with us, even though it was dark, and we were all cold singing outside by campfire, the warmth of the Holy Spirit clearly filled our camp. Thanks be to God, for His indescribable gifts, and blessings!
There were some suggestions last year that we should try some four-part acapella singing. I don't know about you, but this is something I would really love to try this year during the Jam Session. So, if any of you have identical hymnals or songsheets that you would be willing to share, please let me know. Of course, if you would rather bring an instrument (guitars, violin, bagpipes etc.) please bring them too! I will once again be bringing my 61-note Midi Keyboard along for whoever would like to use it during the get together.
Lastly, I am looking for some volunteers who would like to help during the morning devotions Saturday and Sunday morning. To recap, I am looking for:

- A volunteer to provide hymnals and/or song sheets during Friday Night Jam Session
- Volunteer instrumentalists for Saturday and/or Sunday morning
- A volunteer to run PowerPoint on Saturday and/or Sunday (I will provide the computer)
- Suggestions for songs to sing during these times (i.e. hymns, gospel songs, praise and worship)
- Any other music-related ideas or suggestions you might have

What to bring 2011
+ bedding - I would suggest a sleeping bag and pillow, possibly an extra blanket
(the cabins have AC and can be heated.)
+ toiletries & personal items
+ jacket or hoodie, socks, and other warm clothing. Ohio weather can be unpredictable, and the evenings may get quite chilly!
+ a snack to share (as able,) if you are driving or coming locally - cookies, chips, trail mix, snack mix, etc, etc
+ games! (locals and people driving - again as able.)
Board games, card games, etc, etc.
+ any extra equipment, costumes, or music for those participating in the talent show.
**There is an electrical outlet at the amphitheater**
+ autograph book
+ instrument/s for the jam sessions!
+ your finest singing voice. ;)
+ costume for the "Once Upon a Dream" English Country Dance Ball! - can't wait to see what everyone has come up with. :D
+ dancing feet
+ the idea of having fun, meeting new people, and having a BLAST
+ last and never the least...don't forget to bring yourself!
**IMPORTANT NOTES!!**
- there is wifi in the lodge as well as cell phone service (Verison, etc,) in certain areas of the camp.
- the cabin bunks have all new mattresses.
- there is a basket ball court, so if you have a ball, please bring it!
- those interested in the stocked fishing pond are more then welcome to bring along a pole.
- please contact me if you are interested in signing up, and I will send you my address. Right now we have around 45 people attending, and more still registering!
Thanks, and please contact me or any of my co-planners if you have questions!
